Steva Robinson-BowersSTEVA ROBINSON - Owner & Graphic Designer

Steva grew up on a farm in southwest Wisconsin where her passion for livestock was ignited at an early age.  While growing up she devoted herself to sheep and cattle projects and exhibited at the Wisconsin State Fair as well as several national shows across the nation. Hard work and dedication allowed her to be successful in exhibiting livestock. Some memorable accomplishments include Reserve Grand Champion at the 2005 Wisconsin State Fair, Reserve Champion Hampshire at the 2006 NAILE, as well as the Premier Exhibitor at the National Western Stock Show.  This passion would lead to pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science at Iowa State University.

While in college, Steva exemplified abilities as a leader in the Block & Bridle Club from planning every aspect of a sheep show to designing the club’s annual yearbook.  These activities attracted a quick interest to adding a second Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Business. Enthusiasm for agriculture and marketing landed her a marketing internship for Case-New Holland, marketing equipment on a large-scale basis.  Creating company newsletters, event promotions, and daily communications with dealers across the country are some of the tasks Steva provided for this company.  In 2008, Steva launched Novel Designs to provide top-level marketing to livestock producers. Within a year, Novel Designs took off and became Steva's full-time job and the rest is history!

Steva operates a club lamb business, Steva Robinson Show Stock, on a small farm outside of Belmont, WI. In addition, Steva and her son Brayden enjoy showing pigs.

Jalene KennedyJALENE KENNEDY - Championdrive.com, Design Assistant, & Web Updates

Jalene is the newest member of Novel Designs. With Novel Designs and championdrive.com growing like wildfire, we knew we needed more help. Jalene has been representing championdrive.com at shows/sales by getting results and is now moving up to help us with more. Her title is design assistant, but that is just a small part of her description. Additionally, Jalene is involved with website/advertising sales, championdrive.com growth, and is the newest member to our web updates team.

Jalene, like her sister, Nicole (see above), grew up on a small farm in southeast Iowa and since day one has loved the livestock industry. She started showing sheep at age 4 and even before then loved helping her big sister and couldn't wait to learn the tricks of the trade from her. She also showed pigs and cattle, but her true love was the sheep. She competed across the nation and with the help of her parents, sister and brother-in-law Ty, she was able to win Louisville in 2007 and raise the supreme buck at Sedalia that same year.

She graduated from Northwest Missouri State with a major in Agriculture Business and has helped her mom and dad on the farm raising sheep. Recently she married Matt Kennedy and now shares her time between Iowa and Oklahoma when not traveling the nation showing or selling lambs. Jalene is involved with raising sheep with her husband, Kennedy Club Lambs, with her parents, Middlesworth Club Lambs, and her brother and sister Allen Show Lambs. She loves traveling around the nation to shows and helping kids as well as spending time with her niece, Sayde!

Kay HagenKAY HAGEN - Graphic Designer

Kay is the newest employee here at Novel Designs. With several years of experience in print design and a rural background, Kay was a logical choice when it was time to expand once again.

Kay grew up near Plymouth, Ind., showing hogs at the county level and dabbling with a variety of other animals including goats, cattle and horses. She is a self-described “horse person” and loves pretty much anything to do with animal agriculture.

After graduating from Purdue with a degree in agricultural communications, Kay spent a few years as associate editor of a small, weekly farm newspaper and traveling throughout southern Michigan and northern Indiana covering county fairs. She returned to Purdue and took a job writing news releases for the College of Agriculture. When a job in the School of Veterinary Medicine opened up, Kay jumped at the chance. There she honed her graphic design skills and picked up some Web experience.

Kay lives near Remington, Ind., in the middle of a cornfield. She and her husband have one daughter, Anna, and a menagerie of critters including a great dane, border collie and lamancha goat.
